Our Approach

Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life. Your wedding photographs will be one of the few things that remain after the big day. To get great wedding pictures, you need to be relaxed, knowing that your wedding photographers know what you want. To ensure this, we always meet a couple before taking a booking and we meet again about 3 months before the wedding to go through arrangements in detail. We enjoy taking pictures, meeting people and sharing in the excitement that comes from a wedding. We particularly enjoy the slide-show viewing a few weeks after the wedding and personally delivering the wedding album.

Pre-Wedding photography

What better way to get to know each other, than having a pre-wedding photography shoot, at a venue such as Shugborough Hall, Ansty Hall or Elvaston Castle? These normally take a few hours for a stroll including photographs and refreshments in a suitable café at the end. A few days later we share your pre-wedding photographs with you and you can choose one for your, optional, Signature Print (see examples in slide show). Pre-wedding shoots cost £150 including a framed print. Please see the Pre-Wedding Photography Gallery for examples.

Bride &/or Groom Preparation photography

This is not about pictures with your hair in curlers – it’s about getting ready with friends, perhaps having a quiet drink and definitely lots of nervous energy!

Lorna is our Bride preparation photography expert – capturing the detail in the dress, the row of shoes, the bouquet and all those finishing touches. William does the Groom preparation photography – capturing the tying of the cravat, the finely polished shoes, the cufflinks and the last minute speech writing. One fee of £100, covers both Bride and Groom preparation photography.

Core Coverage

The bit in the middle – from arrivals, through the wedding ceremony, the groups, confetti and informal shots afterwards – is included in every package. This also includes special shots of the bride and groom together. Even if we are not covering the speeches and first dance, we will take pictures of the cake and its mock cutting.

Because there are two photographers, subject to agreement by the relevant official, we take photographs from both the front and back of the wedding ceremony. As we have high quality cameras and lenses, this can be done without flash, so there are no distractions.

When we take group photographs – as there are two photographers – whilst this is being done, Lorna has the opportunity to take great informal shots of the guests. As the groups have been agreed with the bride and groom in advance, we can get through this quite efficiently so there is more time to mingle and take even more informal wedding pictures.

At some stage, we will take extra pictures of the Bride and Groom. If possible, we do this in a couple of brief sessions, so that you are not away from wedding guests for too long and not working too hard!

Speeches, First Dance and Night Time photography

This is a combined option which we provide at £100, to cover both the speeches and the first dance. We also love to produce a special night time shot which you will see examples of in our Wedding Gallery.
